Welcome to the commencement of our cigar blog. We are hoping that our website and blog serve as a portal for other like-minded individuals that enjoy the art of cigar smoking. As a long time retailer, I have lived through the highs of the ’90s cigar boom and the current lows of high cigar taxes and encroachment of non smoking laws. Throughout all these periods, one thing has remained the same, the passion for a great smoke. Understanding this, we try to make our retail stores, and now our blog, a haven/retreat for people to escape from their daily stress and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

The Hat Trick

Men’s fashion has changed dramatically over the past 50 years. The slacks and sports coats of yesteryear have been replaced by the tattered jeans and iron crossed t-shirt by today’s men. What happened to the days when a man could walk into a bar and set his coat and hat on a hook without looking pompous? Nowadays mid-aged men can be spotted wearing trendy Ed Hardy t-shirts with True Religion jeans and maybe a thick silver bracelet to complete the outfit. The styles of the 40’s and 50’s are long forgotten and by comparison by today’s standards, unhip. If there is one piece of apparel I miss the most it has to be the fedora. A simple straw material strung together with a brim and a nylon accent can add a touch of class and sophistication to any man’s wardrobe. Many stars like Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp have the same nostalgic feelings and have resurrected the style of the fedora. Though it does take some confidence to wear one any man is capable of doing so. My biggest piece of advice to anyone trying to sport the look is to know that you look good in it. Know that you are a trend setter and many wish they had the confidence you have to break away from the monotonous NY Yankee hat or the bad boy beanie cap and relic in the envy men will have as you strut down the boulevard..
